How Much Does a Tummy Tuck Cost?

For those interested in undergoing tummy tuck surgery to reduce their weight and improve their figure, the cost of the surgery can be a bit daunting.

There are several different types of abdominoplasty currently being done in the United States. Each of these procedures comes with a different set of costs and risks depending on the invasiveness and extent of the work being done. In general, most stomach tuck procedures range in cost from $5,000 to $15,000

Calculating Surgery Costs

The cost of a tummy reduction is somewhat deceptive in nature. First of all, your plastic surgeon will give you quote for their part of the procedure. This will usually vary depending on your location and the type of procedure being done.

Then you must add on additional fees for things like anesthesia and hospital room stays. Those costs are determined by the facility where your surgery will take place and can be estimated by your doctor, but the total cost should fall below the $15,000 mark for nearly any procedure, barring complications.

Other Considerations

When determining your weight reduction surgery costs, you should also keep in mind any pain medications you will need after the surgery, blood tests you will need before the surgery and any special items used for recovery. These costs are typically separate from your procedure and can stretch out for several weeks before and after the surgery takes place.

The average cost of a belly tuck ranges from $6,500 to $10,000 for most Vanguard patients and varies with complexity or the addition of other procedures such as liposuction. Dr.'s Dreszer and Fletcher would be happy to consult with prospective patients and offer an exact quote based on the optimal procedure(s) to reinvent yourself. Does Insurance Cover Stomach Tucks?

For the most part, standard insurance policies do not cover tummy reduction surgery as this is considered a cosmetic procedure. On occassion, insurers will pay for panniculectomy procedures which is excess fat surgery. Many plastic surgeons, Vangaurd included, offer some form of financing.
